Dimitrios Baltzopoulos, Project Structural Engineer

MEng (Hons)

Dimi is half Greek and born in Liverpool. He is Project Structural Engineer with four years of post-graduate experience.

Dimi became an engineer due to his interest in maths. He completed his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and while doing so, became interested in specialising in structural engineering. He remained at Nottingham Trent University for another year to complete his master’s degree in structural engineering with materials. He was asked to give the prestigious Vote of Thanks at the graduation ceremony on behalf of all the Master’s Students of that year, in recognition of his achievements at the university.

Dimi takes a keen interest in using BIM software to achieve a great coordination process. He believes that 3D modelling both for draughting and engineering is key to reaching the most elegant and efficient structural solutions, and ensures all information is synchronised amongst the design team.

Outside of the office, Dimi used to enjoy snowboarding, both recreationally, and competing at a national university level. However, the breaking of around 10 – 15 bones over the years has brought this to a minimum recently. He now enjoys skateboarding and running in his free time.
